Company History
learndirect has become the UK’s leading online learning provider following its inception in 2000. After spending 11 years under the government-created University For Industry (UFI), it was sold to private equity house Lloyds Development Capital (LDC) and later in 2012 merged with LDC under the learndirect name.

Over the past decade, learndirect has been offering a wide range of customers a seamless service such as: employability support to help people find a job, Maths, English, IT, communication, and team building skills that are crucial to getting and retaining a job, as well as in-work training through online courses and apprenticeships.

Now, learndirect reaches into local communities, the workplace and people’s homes with flexible, accessible and supported online learning.
