GE Appliances Affinity Networks
Within the GE Appliances community at large, our Diversity Council encourages employees to form smaller social communities based on shared backgrounds and interests and helps them stay vibrant and active. Not only does this speak volumes about the remarkable diversity found here at GE Appliances, but it also reveals the nature of our people. They enjoy making connections, sharing ideas, helping the community and having fun together.
Affinity networks also provide exposure and networking opportunities internally to business leadership and externally to community leaders. And in the community at large, through the promotion of STEM education to school-age children and a variety of civic outreach projects, affinity networks do a great deal to strengthen bonds with our neighborhoods and encourage employee involvement.
AFRICAN AMERICAN FORUM (AAF)
The AAF seeks to support and empower African American employees at GE Appliances through professional development and mentoring, and to strengthen the bonds between GE Appliances and local African American communities.
ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN FORUM (APAF)
Dedicated to attracting, developing and retaining Asian Pacific American talent, the APAF provides its members with the tools they need to cultivate their leadership capabilities and realize their career aspirations.
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM NETWORK (DPNET)
The Development Program Network (DPNet) is a GE Appliances employee resource group comprised of all leadership program members. DPNet's mission is to establish a community of leadership program members dedicated to building relationships through leadership, personal growth and social opportunities. DPNet aspires to achieve camaraderie and collaboration among its members. Our diverse group consists of members from early career development programs across GE Appliances. DPNet committee organizes and hosts educational events that engage participants and allow them to develop professionally while building new relationships both with peers and senior staff.
HISPANIC FORUM (HF)
The Hispanic Forum provides Hispanic employees at GE Appliances with learning, coaching and networking opportunities, as well as a chance to make a difference in the local Hispanic community through volunteerism.
LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER AND ALLY ALLIANCE (LGBTA)
The LGBTA Alliance was developed to attract, develop and retain gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees. The intention is to create an inclusive workplace where everyone is empowered to participate and grow their careers while helping GE Appliances succeed.
LOUISVILLE NETWORK (LOUNET)
Employee engagement, professional development, retention, talent referrals and community service form the core of LouNet's mission. Started in 2005 for newly hired employees, LouNet has recently opened up to become an employee resource group for all salaried GE Appliances employees. Through fun activities and professional development events, this group works hard to bring together a diverse workforce and to encourage collaboration between members from all functions and levels. By helping employees form bonds with colleagues they wouldn't have otherwise, demonstrate professional development and lead high-visibility projects, LouNet is making a positive impact on our GE Appliances community and the community at large.
VETERANS NETWORK (VN)
Dedicated to making GE Appliances the employer of choice for veterans, reservists and guardsmen, GE Appliances' Veterans Network also works to create a community of veterans to support the career development of its members, and to serve the veteran community nationwide through outreach events.
WOMEN'S NETWORK (WN)
Created to accelerate the advancement of women working at GE Appliances, the Women's Network provides a forum for sharing information, best practices, education and experience. By helping each other develop leadership skills and achieve career success, women at Appliance Park help drive the company's success as an industry leader.
