IAT consists of eight business units, each sharing the same quality standards, commitment to service and innovation, and an overall mission of excellence. They include:
Commercial Transportation: As one of the largest insurers for the transportation industry, IAT Transportation offers a broad array of competitive products and loss control services to meet the unique needs of the industry. Common coverages include auto liability, auto physical damage, cargo, general liability and occupational accident coverages.
Programs: IAT Programs welcomes a wide array of business and can facilitate capacity for new or existing markets. We offer customized products and broad risk appetite for admitted and non-admitted business for profitable programs with premium volumes in excess of $5 million.
Assumed Reinsurance: A quoting market for all treaty classes of property and casualty lines, IAT Re supports proportional and non-proportional reinsurance for domestic and international clients.
Excess & Surplus: IAT Excess Casualty Middle-Market focuses on providing tailored solutions for surplus lines risks seeking excess and umbrella coverage. Our focus is on the commercial middle-market segment, but we also offer flexibility to cover both smaller and larger accounts.Â
Inland Marine: IAT Inland Marine focuses on providing insurance for all traditional lines of inland marine such as builders' risk, contractors' equipment, fine art, motor truck cargo and property. We apply our unique expertise to deliver flexible, innovative and high quality insurance solutions.Â
Surety: Surety consists of International Fidelity Insurance Company and its subsidiary Allegheny Casualty Insurance Company. It is the eighth largest surety writer in the country. Lines of business include contract, commercial, subdivision and specialty. Writing in each of these areas is spread throughout the country, and produced through dedicated independent agents and brokers. Â
Management Liability: IAT's Management Liability business unit offers ML Pro Plus coverage to private and not-for-profit companies, including Directors and Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Fidelity Insurance (Commercial Crime), and Cyber Liability.
Homeowners: Our dependable, highly rated residential property insurance is available in 14 states through our partnership with SageSure, an innovation-focused insurance and technology company specializing in underserved property markets.Â
We believe in supporting the communities in which we live, work and play. Through our Charitable Match Program, IAT provides a matching contribution on a three-to-one basis for charitable donations made by any individual employee. The employee's contribution may be between $25-$200 and must go to a 501c(3) charity as designated by the IRS. Additionally, employees are encouraged to use eight hours of Volunteer Time Off during regularly scheduled work hours to support these efforts.

IAT’s intentional efforts to drive diversity and inclusion include the implementation of several initiatives, such as: Recruitment We continue to expand our recruiting efforts to broaden our pool of candidates, including recruiting from historically black colleges & universities, and partnering with industry groups such as the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA), Prospanica (the association of Hispanic MBA’s and business professionals), the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), and the Advancement of Professional Insurance Women (APIW). Learning & Development Our company Inclusion and Diversity web page provides employees with our latest news, developments and efforts on I&D as well as suggested resources such as books, documentaries and podcasts to support their personal growth and education on a range of issues. We introduced Community Forums, small group discussions where employees can talk, listen and learn from each other as they share their perspectives and stories on social issues in a safe and supportive environment. We offer a range of employee development courses, programs and training tools to help employees grow their careers and leadership skills, and recently introduced a mentoring program.
All managers and employees are required to complete Unconscious Bias Awareness training, and we continue to expand our library of inclusion and diversity courses and offerings available to employees. Accountability Our Inclusion and Diversity efforts are sponsored by our CEO and supported by our senior leadership team. CEO Bill Cunningham provides the company’s leadership with regular updates on our efforts and progress. We measure employee sentiment to evaluate culture and understand the effectiveness of our inclusion efforts. Our annual culture survey has several questions around inclusion, trust and belonging. Results of this survey are shared with all employees each year and we implement new programs, benefits and programs in response to the employee feedback.
