About Federation of State Medical Boards
FSMB is a national healthcare organization focused on building tools and services for physicians and state medical boards. FSMB’s cloud based solutions are used by physicians throughout the country to register for licensing examinations, building credential portfolios and applying for licensure. FSMB’s tools for data exchange and generating physician profiles are also used nationally by medical boards and health care organizations.

If you've ever visited a doctor, you have encountered our work. Each day, state medicla boards help keep patients safe by ensuring physicians are properly licensed to practice medicine. And when there are issues, they work with physicians to improve care, and if necessary, to remove them from practice.
The Federation of State Medical Boards supports the efforts of the state medical boards. FSMB's advocacy team partners with boards to develop policies and promote government regulations that protect the public; our IT team builds information networks and software solutions that allow boards to share physician data; and our credentialing specialists help physicians assemble professional portfolios to document that they have the education, experience, and certifications necessary to practice medicine.
