Flamingo Land Theme Park, Zoo & Holiday Village. Flamingo Land is one of the areas largest employers with 120 full time permanent and over 500 seasonal employees, offering opportunities in a multitude of departments including engineering, catering and administration, as well as apprenticeship opportunities. We attract in excess of 1.5 million visitors and holiday guests each year.

We have developed and retained team members successfully by delivering a two-day induction, ensuring all team members are confident before starting in their departments. It includes Customer Service Training - showing team members what a fun place Flamingo Land is to work and an orientation tour, amongst other activities. Primarily, it encourages team members to enjoy their work and gives freedom for them to bring their personalities into their role.

Flamingo Land retains team members by being a fun, friendly and inclusive workplace. Employees describe working here as being a member of the 'Flamingo Land Family'. We organise staff events, including: pub quizzes, rounders tournaments, zorbing, escape rooms and bowling, which allows team members from different departments to socialise. Team members have many benefits available including: free use of our gym and swimming pool, free entry for staff (who regularly visit on days off), discount for family and friends and access to the company rewards scheme which includes discounts with local businesses.

Feedback from our team members has shown that they are much happier with the new-style induction with 95% saying they were very well looked after throughout the two days and 82% saying they felt confident to carry out duties after receiving departmental training on tasks.
