Larry H. Miller Australia

Larry Miller's story is a chapter out of Horatio Alger. A poor high school student and a college dropout, he started his professional career as a stock boy in an auto parts store and, through the sheer force of his personality and work ethic, he and his wife Gail became two of the most successful entrepreneurs in Utah history, and some of its most prominent residents.

In 1979, Larry and Gail went into business for themselves with the purchase of the Toyota of Murray (Utah) dealership which was the first of many businesses that would comprise the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies which include it's 60 dealerships.

Mr. Miller passed on February 20, 2009 as he had been in declining health for several years and left a legacy of integrity and tenacity.

Instead of slowing down in her future years, Gail seems to have accelerated her pace. There are daily company meetings, speeches, luncheons, events in the community, Jazz games, foundation meetings, phone conferences, endless phone calls. Maintaining, both, the solidity and the integrity of how the Miller organization does conducts it's family business.

Formed in 1995, Larry H. Miller Charities (LHM Charities) is a nonprofit organization that functions as the charitable arm of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. To quote Larry " we give back to the communities by focusing our united service and corporate giving on women and children with an emphasis on health and education ".

Funding for Larry H. Miller Charities enables the organization to continue making an impact in the community. Generous contributions come from the general public and businesses, however the majority of the funds are generated through Larry H. Miller companies and employee contributions, including the Give Us 5 program. Employees voluntarily donate $5 per month from their paycheck to go to Larry H. Miller Charities. These contributions remain in the state where they were donated to benefit the local community.
