What’s it like to manage a bus depot? Katherine is Operations Manager at our busy Hastings Depot, looking after our customers, 170 drivers and 61 buses across Kent. She enjoys the community buzz within the team and tackling the daily challenges on the busy Kent network.
Katherine started on the Stagecoach graduate scheme back in 2016 working as Assistant Manager in Sheffield before progressing to Operations Manager of Ashford and Hastings.

Before a bus goes out on the road, the driver must complete a 28-point check to ensure the bus is safe and clean for our customers.
When on the road, Phil loves the community spirit whilst out on the road. Whether it’s picking up the morning commuters or taking the regulars to the shops, Phil always drives to the best of his abilities and has been recognised as ”˜fleet elite’ for his smooth driving.

But it’s not all about driving”¦ everyday across the UK, our dedicated teams of in-house engineers work tireless to keep our vehicles safely maintained. In 2023 we’re introducing 200 new diesel and electric vehicles across the country allowing our engineers to adapt their skillsets to work with state-of the-art EV technology.
