Generations Federal Credit Union (GFCU) was founded in 1940 to serve employees of the City of San Antonio, expanding to serve the SA Fire Department and SA Police Department employees. GFCU now serves more than 48,000 consumer and commercial members with multiple branch locations and virtual banking services. Members enjoy competitive dividend and loan rates with low fees, and nationwide access through shared branching and electronic services. GFCU seeks to enhance quality of life throughout its eight-county Field of Membership by promoting financial well-being, as well as through supporting and volunteering with community-serving organizations.

Celebrating 80 Years in BusinessWe’re proud to be celebrating 80 years in our community. Our credit union was founded in July of 1940 to serve City of San Antonio employees and soon grew to serve the Fire Department and Police Department as well. Today, we are one of San Antonio’s leading financial institutions, serving more than 48,000 members and managing over $570 million in assets.
