Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Howard W. Lutnick is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald, L.P., one of the world's leading financial services firms and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BGC Partners, Inc., a leading global brokerage company. Mr. Lutnick guided the rebuilding of Cantor following the devastating September 11, 2001 World Trade Center attacks that claimed the lives of 658 of the firm's 960 New York-based employees. Since then, Cantor has provided over $250 million to help the families of the firm's employees who perished.

Mr. Lutnick graduated from Haverford College in 1983 with a degree in economics and joined Cantor Fitzgerald in the same year. He was named President and CEO in 1991 and Chairman in 1996.

Cantor Fitzgerald commemorate our 658 employees lost in the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks each year by donating all revenues raised on Charity Day to charities around the world. In conjunction with Cantor Fitzgerald and its affiliate, BGC Partners, The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund is a proud sponsor of Charity Day. Since its inception, Charity Day has raised and distributed approximately $101 million globally.

The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund was founded in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Initially created to assist family members of Cantor employees, the Relief Fund has expanded its mission to provide aid to victims of terrorism, natural disasters and other emergencies, and has raised and distributed over $250 million.
